Baldwin County Mental Health Center

Adult Psychiatrist

Requirements: Medical Doctor licensed to practice psychiatry by the State of Alabama.

Location/Hours: Robertsdale Group Homes, Bay Minette Day Treatment & Foley Day Treatment; 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

Overview: The psychiatrist is responsible for providing psychiatric services to Center consumers as deemed appropriate. This individual is accessible 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as designated by the on-call rotation. Additionally, this individual will provide psychiatric diagnostic services for patients utilizing the contributions of the treatment staff, participate in conferences concerning the diagnosis and treatment of patients, participate in in-service training for the Center staff, provide psychiatric treatment for patients, monitor consumers medications with assistance of Center nurses, and engage in community mental health education.

Adult Therapist

Requirements: Minimum qualifications for this position are a Masters Degree in Social Work or related field from a University with an accredited educational program; license eligibility in the State of Alabama plus two years post masters experience. Prior substance abuse experience a plus.

Hours/Location: Baldwin County; Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm; some non-traditional hours.

Overview: The Therapist is responsible for delivery of treatment to consumers and their families who are experiencing emotional problems. These duties include individual, group and family therapy. In performing these duties, the Therapist will interview, evaluate, assess diagnostic impressions, assist in design of treatment plans, provide a therapeutic environment for consumers, refer to ancillary agencies and services, and perform outreach, and public information and education services. This individual is accessible 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as designated by the on-call rotation.
